Welding at 65 Degrees

Added on by John Sturr.

I had a great time going to San Jose visting with Brother Kurt and his wife Kathy.
Street shooting in S.F. and winding down with great dinners and some welding in-between.

Power Pole

Here's another from this last weekend -- for some reason I have a fastination with tags on
power poles... don't ask me why -- I guess I think they are a challenge.

Red in the Bokeh

Yesterday I really wanted to get out of the house -- but that meant I was a walker -- M had the jeep.  So I decided to take the 25 year-old 50mm 1.4 with me -- It's a flakey lens, and doesn't meter correctly past f4.0 but wide open I really like how it renders colors.

This image was processed with Michael W. Gray's www.lifeindigitalfilm.com Lightroom preset - Fuji Velvia Curve.

He painstakenly takes old/new film stock -- shoots it -- and then creates preset profiles by scanning the shot film.

Chase Jarvis, commercial photographer based in Seattle, www.chasejarvis.com, and social media
pioneer gave away three seats to his paneled twitter conference in Park City at Sundance, last night; and I was one who Twittered fast enough to get an invite.

Chase is most notably known for his Nikon D90 launch video which went viral almost instantly upon release, and subsequently put Jarvis' name in the everyday vernacular.

His web page, Facebook friends and Twitter followers shows he's connected; and I was able to see some of that in Sundance as his guest at the Tweet House this past Sunday.

Cows

Cows with a bit of some extreme post processing - turned out ok...

Violet the good sport

Added on by John Sturr.

Dire straits deserve drastic measures -- and that's where Violet comes in -- you see sometimes she's all the subject matter I have at hand.  Sad, I know -- but she keeps me sharp on the camera skills - 'cause she's quick... see... very, light on her feet...

Eyes Right

This past weekend, at the in-law side of the family I was able to capture this image of my Niece.
Of all the photos - this is probably one of the most compelling becuase of the pose and day light
reflecting off of her face.
