The Seattle monorail was a bit -- hmm... rickity -- for the lack of a better word. It was evident that the system hasn't really been updated since the Worlds Fair.

I have some good memories of when I would travel to Seattle when I was at 2/75 Ranger in Ft. Lewis. The drive of 45 minutes was worth it upon stepping into LePanier french bakery at Pike's Place.

After all the shooting, at the end of the trip - this, one of the last photos taken, is my best. Sitting at the edge of the water at Lowell's, waiting for lunch and reflecting upon the last few days - wonderful. Taken with the tiny Canon SD780is - now a staple of my travels.

HamBone
This is one of my most favorite photos -- ever -- and it's ironic it was taken in a place of which I dispise; Iraq. It was a grab shot -- after a gun run we had to take the trucks to the motorpool for repair - Hambone drove and I rode shotgun; in the GreenZone. Sometimes HamBone lead on to be my friend - and sometimes he didn't. I always tried to be HamBone's friend.
HamBone was a lineman - after surviving Iraq - and some 1800 missions in the red-zone - he died 5 months after returning from eletrocution after grabbing a hot wire. At the wake he was dressed with white gloves becuase his hands were so burned; so I heard.

4 Years ago
Four years ago this weekend I arrived in country -- Baghdad, Iraq. This was the first picture I took as I was traveling to what became a work detail for change of command at the International center near CrossSwords. It was hot - very hot - I didn't like it very much.
