Ordinarily Creative

This was a step outside of my normal space - I'm trying to see through the ordinary and into some other place. The sun was setting and the mundane of the lawn sprinkler waved back and forth.

Bingo -- I like this -- this really moves me.

In a few weeks my wife and I will be visiting family for the first time in over a year -- it brings back memories of when we were there and I was able to photograph one of my Nephew's lacrosse games.  This is one of his fellow teammates of a few years ago.  I always liked this photo as it was taken with a 15-yearold Sigma screwdriver lens -- anything is possible I guess.

This is one of my favorites - from Spring of 2007 when my Brother and Nephew were in town.

Lightning

A storm blew in a few days ago -- and I took the chance at trying to get a pic of some lighting.

This hummingbird stared me down as I was trying to capture the perfect shot -- these buggers are difficult to photograph to say the least.

Everything here in Utah is turning green -- as the temps finally started to break.  We are on about a 3 week roll and now just about all the leaves have popped on the trees.

The fast Fifty

DSC_6410-borderI just re-discovered my 50mm 1.4.  A kit lens no less with my mostly retired FM-2 of the early 1980's fame.  Wide open it's a little foggy - but stopped down it really shines.

SLC State Capitol

The calm before the storm revealed some ideal sun reflecting off of the Salt Lake City State Capitol building - I couldn't resiste making the climb and waiting about 30 minutes to make this photo.

I've just switched to SquareSpace - and have purchased the url jsturr.com.

As I become more versed with this system I hope this will become more intersting.

The following picture was shot at my place of work - www.ffkr.com - where I volunteered
to take head shots of the company.  Two strobes, with one of those with an umbrella
attached.  Nikon D2h with 80-200mm AF-s at around 80mm.  I was about 10 feet away.
