WW II - Museum

Added on by John Sturr.

Shot at the Museum - quite near the entrance.  The Museum is very nice - but I wish it was bigger !  This images is a BW convert from color.  This may be the first time I've done this, as I'm usually a purest when it comes to the craft.  But - in this case - a BW images really makes this form pop.

As always - no crop and self developed, shot on a Rollei 6008i

from the Front Yard

Added on by John Sturr.

This was shot from the front yard with the F100 and I would assume with the 24-120mm f3.5-5.6.  The light was great - and I probably thought I was shooting color - sometimes I don't pay enough attention to the film roll in the camera.  Stand Development in Rodinal with no crop.

Shot from the hotel room - I liked capturing the architectural forms of the squares from afar while filling the frame.

SLC Capitol

Shot with the F100 and the 80-200mm f2.8 AFs lens.  The AFs lens was purchased probably 8 years ago when I couldn't afford the 70-200 new.  So I did some research and found out that the 80-200 had a loyal following and it was quite the performer.  But -- it had no VR.  And even to this day - I've never shot a VR lens.  Fuji Acros 100 film and Stand Developed in Rodinal for 60 minutes.  That's the standard now -- Stand Development - and -- it is wonderful !  And as always - no crop.

Colorado of Last Year

Added on by John Sturr.

This image was captured in Colorado last year -- Near the RNP in September of 2016.  But - I can't remember if this was with the Rollei or the YashicaMat124G.  It turned out really well.

the Creatives

I am really lucky to be with a firm in which it's center product is one of the result of the efforts of creativity.  The business of Architecture is as much of an Art as it is a Discipline for results which fit the need.  Ok -- that was a bit heady . . .

This image - as wth many - was a grab shot, as I sit next to Ying, and Pierre was marking something up for discussion.  Film -- no crop -- self developed and scanned.

Shot at FFKR Architects in Salt Lake City - yes, FFKR is where I call my day job.  But -- a part of that job is photographing the office.  And it's a good gig.

Looking Thru...

This was shot on the Nikon F100 of a pass thru area of a local High School.  It was cloudy outside and the Sun had set - and the reflections were intense.

SLC - In the Neighborhood

Added on by John Sturr.

This was shot on the Nikon F100 during and evening walk the beginning of Summer - I think this is Ilford Delta 400 - but not quite sure as I type this.  Lots of grain which makes me think I was experimenting with Stand development on 400 speed film.  And that 400 speed really makes a difference compared to 100.
